Adoption Opportunities

Please Open Your Home And Your Heart To A Homeless Pet

You can save a life! Animal Allies desperately needs temporary foster homes for cats and kittens until they can be placed in a permanent setting. Foster homes provide the second chance that so many stray, abandoned, and homeless kitties need. Your reward is the satisfaction in knowing that you have helped save a helpless animal. Please make a difference in the life of a precious kitty by becoming a foster parent!

What’s involved? It’s simple — all we need from you is dedication and commitment. We ask that you take care of the basic needs of the foster cat and allow sufficient time to ensure that it is well-socialized and ready for a new home. We will supply all food, litter, litter boxes, and any other necessary items to create a comfortable foster room.

Do I need experience with cats? No, although it would be helpful! One of our adoption coordinators is always available to answer your questions. You will never be without help and support from our volunteers.

How much does it cost to foster a cat? Animal Allies will pay all the costs of food, litter, supplies and veterinary expenses for your foster cat. If you’d like to supply some of these items we will collect your sales receipts and provide you with a tax receipt.

How long does it take to foster a cat? Usually, anywhere between a few weeks to a few months—each situation is different. Most kittens find homes in a shorter time, however all adoptions are more difficult today because of the economy. But don’t worry -- we can help you choose the foster situation that works best for you and your time schedule.

Is there anything else I should know? Most foster volunteers find the hardest part of the experience is saying good-bye to the cats that they have cared for and come to love. We will always support your feelings and will always include you in the adoption process. We find that meeting the family who will be taking over the nurturing and care of your cat is very gratifying for a foster parent. From our experience, most fosters will agree that the rewards of knowing that you have sent your cat off to a wonderful new home far outweigh the heartache of seeing them go. There are so many homeless kitties that just won't have that chance without you!
