Message from Fr. Nick

Eastertide 2010

Dear Fellow Friend of the Animals,

Welcome to our site!

As you navigate these pages you’ll notice that in many ways we are like other animal welfare sites. We promote adoption, spay/neuter, humane treatment, and lots of love for our friends. But we offer an additional, often overlooked or misunderstood aspect of the love of animals: Spirituality.

Bless the Animals Alexandria is pleased to offer a place of comfort and compassion for you and your pet (s). The Scriptures tell us that all of God’s creation blesses the Lord including “the beasts of the field, the fowls of the air, and the creatures of the sea.”

Our goal at BTAA is to offer prayers and blessings for sick pets, grief counseling for those who’ve lost their beloved friend, and assistance with pet sitting/walking for those who might be temporarily home-bound or incapacitated.

As an outreach of the Church of St. Andrew and St. Margaret, we’re here to serve! I invite you to contact us with your spiritual needs and also ask your prayers for those creatures who are sick, alone, abandoned, and abused. May our Good and Gracious God Bless them all!

Faithfully,

The Rev. Nick C. Athanaelos
Spiritual Director
